November 7, 2019 – I am a steering committee member of the St. Louis Equity in Entrepreneurship Collective (Collective) which is a cross-sector collaborative of partners working to improve racial and gender equity in St. Louis’ entrepreneurship ecosystem. Since 2016, the Collective has worked to engage relevant stakeholders around its vision. That vision is, that in the St. Louis region, an entrepreneur’s success will not be pre-determined by their race or gender. We are in the process of completing an assessment of the entrepreneur ecosystem in the STL region.
We have engaged Forward Cities a national nonprofit who equips communities and regions to grow and sustain more equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems. Through a partnership with Washington University in St. Louis and the St. Louis Equity in Entrepreneurship Collective, Forward Cities has conducted a study regarding equity in our local entrepreneurial ecosystem. And during their visit on November 20th, Forward Cities will share their findings from their Economic Inclusion Indicator Brief and review the results from the entrepreneurial ecosystem assessment.
I hope you will join us on November 20th from 5:30-7:00pm to learn more about this important initiative.
