October 22, 2019 – Today we are excited to share a brief look into what our fabulous St. Louis Community Partner Veterans Business Resource Center provides to our entrepreneur community. We talked to Darcella Craven, Executive Director of VBRC, to get a snapshot of what wonderful programming & services they offer!
ITEN: “What is the purpose/mission of VBRC?”
DC: “We assist military members, veterans and military families with small business startup and growth in MO, KS, IA, NE and southern IL. We offer customized curriculums, in-person classes, to give veterans the training to succeed. Programs teach the fundamentals of business ownership, connect to other SBA resources and community resources, and small business experts.”
ITEN: “What offerings, programs & services do you provide?”
DC: “Business consulting services and entrepreneurship training on military post in our region. We operate two education programs. Boots to Business: An entrepreneurial program offered on military installations and a training track of the Department of Defense (DOD) Transition Assistance Program (TAP). Boots to Business Reboot extends the entrepreneurship training offered in TAP to veterans and families off post.”
ITEN: “Are there requirements to apply to participate in the above?”
DC: “Have served in the military any point of time served any branch (Go Army Beat Navy) and/or be an immediate family member of someone who served.”
