(ST. LOUIS) May 24, 2018 – One of the first things Chuck Vallurupalli did when moving to the St. Louis area in 2011 was to become a mentor at ITEN. A serial entrepreneur with decades of experience in big data, he quickly became invaluable to the ITEN Mentoring Program. When we received a grant from the Helix Fund to launch our Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) Program, he was a natural pick for the inaugural group in 2012.
ITEN’s EIR Program is designed to provide dedicated C-Level, serial entrepreneur expertise to our most promising startups, and Chuck has served in that capacity for 33 companies. Sixteen of those companies completed our Mock Angel Program, a program whose graduates have raised almost $200 million. Figuring out your value proposition, developing your product efficiently, knowing your customer, raising money or failing fast, Chuck has guided his EIR companies, and many more as a mentor, in steps throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
We are going to miss him as he heads back to the Windy City, but the St. Louis tech startup scene will be feeling his impact for a long time to come. Thank you, Chuck, for all you’ve done for the St. Louis community and its entrepreneurs!
