GiftAMeal (www.giftameal.com) is a for-profit restaurant marketing platform that promotes restaurants by giving back. Each time a user takes a photo on the GiftAMeal mobile application, a meal is provided to someone in need through Operation Food Search. If a user shares their photo on Facebook or Instagram, the impact is doubled and a second meal is provided. Restaurants pay GiftAMeal a monthly subscription to join the GiftAMeal program to incentivize new diners to try the restaurant, to create a positive experience for current customers to increase loyalty, and to encourage customers to promote the restaurants to friends on social media.
Launched just two years ago, GiftAMeal has grown tremendously after receiving an investment from Capital Innovators in Spring 2016. Already, over 100 restaurants have joined and over 100,000 meals have been provided to those in need. GiftAMeal growth has been exponential: 50,000 of those meals have been provided in the last 6 months alone. GiftAMeal is now cash-flow positive, has a sustainable, repeatable sales model, and has its eyes on big moves for near and long term scaling opportunities. To push its growth to the next level, GiftAMeal has now opened its next round of funding.
