ITEN Launched Mentor +1 Program

Thursday, April 6. T-Rex. ITEN’s inaugural Mentor breakfast kicked off today with a solid group of mentors in attendance. Designed to be a forum for the cultivation of the mentor spirit as well as the exchange of new ideas, the breakfast was opened by remarks from ITEN Executive Director Francis Chmelir. Chmelir welcomed the mentors and gave the update about ITEN and St. Louis Tech Ecosystem as a whole. The morning program was turned over to mentor extraordinaire Margie Skiljan who outlined the new ITEN + 1 Program which is an effort designed to ITEN mentors who want to give back to the community and can donate reasonable amount of time and most importantly experience in business. Following Margie was long-standing ITEN mentor David Strom who walked the room through a very robust dialogue around
improved engagement and opportunities for ITEN mentors, ideas and suggestion how mentors and ITEN can make more impact in the ecosystem. The engaged audience listed off numerous quality ideas that the ITEN mentor committee will review in hopes of quickly implementing into ITEN core services. The next breakfast is scheduled on June 29th, Thursday morning. Stay tuned for the invitation. ITEN very much encourages the dialogue to continue beyond the breakfast forum. Please contact Jing Stiffler or Margie Skiljan for one-on-one opportunities to further develop ideas.
