ITEN Mentors are the backbone of ITEN's value delivery, and provide advice and counsel to meet the challenges faced by our early stage companies. Many ITEN mentors are serial IT entrepreneurs themselves and others have many years of valuable experience and perspectives that can help a company progress. To understand the way ITEN mentors work and start-up ventures work together, please spend a few minutes acquainting yourself with how ITEN mentoring functions.
If you think you'd like to become an ITEN mentor, here are the steps to follow:
- Register You must first register on this site.
- Please read and become familiar with the confidentiality and conflict of interest policies. Confidentiality is critical to the integrity and success of ITEN. You will indicate your promise to adhere to these policies as a part of the application.
- The next step is to Apply, which will give us basic contact information for you and initiate the process.
- Meet with the Director. The ITEN Director meets with each mentor to explain the program, how it works, and answer any of your questions. If there is a good fit with current ITEN needs, the applicant is invited to join the Network as a mentor.
- Complete the User Profile The User Profile for a mentor is provides the data that enables our very unique mentor matching capability to work, allowing start-up companies to find the mentors they need to overcome their current challenges. The Profile indicates the areas of expertise that the mentor offers, their bio, their photo, indicates time and location preferences for meetings with start-up companies, and provides any other information the mentor would like to share about themselves with start-up companies.
- ITEN companies are able to search the pool of mentors based upon their specific needs for mentoring. The company extends an invitation to a mentor and enables that mentor to view their company profile. The mentor may accept or decline the invitation. If accepted, the mentor and the mentee arrange to meet and begin the mentoring process.
If you've already registered on the site, you can initiate the process of becoming a mentor here: apply.
