July 22, 2011 - ITEN is very pleased to announce that two ventures have graduated from the Mock Angel Training program. Gremln (formerly Twaitter) and Norse Corporation were both approved for graduation at the July 20 Mock Angel session.
Norse Corporation (www.norse-corp.com), founded by Sam Glines, provides security solutions for the financial services industry and other markets using a proprietary world-wide address-blocking capability that has been developed by the company.
Gremln (www.gremln.com), founded by Ryan Bell, provides unique sentiment analysis and social media management for businesses engaged in online marketing and brand awareness. The company has begun the transition of 80,000 legacy users of their Twaitter service to the Gremln platform.
The purpose of the Mock Angel program is to prepare companies for investor presentations, discussions and negotiations. Mentors for the program are selected because of their knowledge and experience with the funding process for early stage IT ventures. A number of the mentors are also investors.
ITEN has now graduated 11 companies from its Mock Angel program. 2 graduated at the end of 2008, 3 in 2009, 3 in 2010 and 3 so far in 2011. Previous Mock Angel graduates include Yurtopia (Yurbuds), OffCampusMedia, BusyEvent, Blendics, Aisle411, Bizmanualz and Hexagrid. Most graduates of the program have received outside funding.
Gremln and Norse Corporation are both off to great starts and we expect continuing success from both ventures.
