Company Spotlight:
Nofussdining
| |
Nofussdining LLC has developed a unique technology that provides and implements a stand-alone, online ordering service for restaurants. Rather than burdening restaurant staff or utilizing a costly food delivery service, patrons use Nofussdining as a quick, easy, and economical way to order their favorite food online.
It offers a rich, user-friendly set of features to draw clients to a restaurant's menu, but what separates it from the rest is not just dynamic functionality but cost. Most online ordering services, due to lack of competition, have been able to command an inflated price. Nofussdining is changing that, simply by providing increased features at less cost to restaurants.
The Nofussdining system was conceived and built with simplicity in mind. Its user-friendly software is easy for clients to operate but allows them to drive complex functionality that ensures orders are processed swiftly, accurately, and securely. On the restaurant side, it's just as simple to use. They configure a restaurant profile and menu, which is then forwarded to the Nofussdining servers. Once the restaurant information is accurate, the generated Nofussdining URL is inserted on the restaurant's website. From there, clients begin placing orders with no fuss.
Online ordering technology is growing in the restaurant industry and is no longer a luxury; it is a basic necessity for any restaurant portfolio. With Nofussdining, the price, too, is no longer a restriction. We are offering restaurants who once considered online ordering beyond their capacity or budget an opportunity to utilize a service that's necessary, functional, simple, and affordable.
See www.nofussdining.com or call 314-359-2883 Gary Clark CEO for more details. | |

Advancing Technology through Government - Vol.1, Issue 2
by Joan Stader- Iten mentor
With all the discussion of federal spending, continuing resolutions and spending reductions, perhaps it's worth taking a look at where we stand as technology entrepreneurs in the big scheme of the federal budget. Some months ago I was quite angry at the Government's bailout of large companies like General Motors.I wanted to ask the question "Why can't we just let GM fail and let the talented designers, engineers and marketing folks from General Motors spin off their own companies?"But the answer was obvious:Because the payoff would not come soon enough to have an effect on the politicians' re-election campaigns. As the whole scenario played out, however, it seems that the outcome was for the best because Uncle Sam stands to actually get a favorable return on his investment (for now, but that's a topic for another day . . .)

Mentor Spotlight
JP Keating
My background is a little different than most ITEN mentors; I've spent my entire career working for Fortune 500 companies. While I've certainly worked to start a few small companies of my own, I'm still definitely a "big company" employee! Nearly 14 years with Boeing, Anheuser- Busch and now Ameren has provided countless learning opportunities.
A desire to help small and start-up companies better understand the dynamics of working with large companies is what drove me to participate as an ITEN mentor. Over the years I have worked in a number of different roles and all of those dealt heavily with sourcing and procurement. In order for a small company to effectively serve a large corporation that company must clearly understand the needs of the large company. I am hoping I can bring some of that knowledge to the ITEN community.
While many large companies value innovation and new ideas, it can be difficult for them to really engage with a small company; especially startups. Culture, strategy and processes sometimes get in the way of success. Time is also a factor; very few large companies can move at the speed entrepreneurs prefer.
In my current role as a Supplier Diversity Executive at Ameren, I assist minority, woman and veteran owned businesses in obtaining access to Ameren procurement activities. This has given me a fantastic opportunity to interact with all sorts and sizes of businesses. It has also provided me the chance to meet procurement professionals from scores of large businesses. What better to do with a big network but share it! I truly felt this could be an asset to the ITEN group.
While I'm not an "IT guy" I have worked with enough of them and IT groups to understand their needs and concerns. I take this and apply it to developing advice for small businesses so that they can better succeed in working with people like us. It's a different world working with big companies but with enough planning, flexibility, and creativity there can be success. |
