ITEN LinkedIn New Features

ITEN News

In an effort to provide you with easier access to information and advice that can directly impact the likelihood of success, ITEN has initiated a new feature for ITEN companies that we hope will really be a great help.

We have established 3 new Linked-In subgroups where a number of ITEN's subject matter expert mentors are already standing by to answer questions or comment on issues that are critical to the success of ITEN companies.   The primary objective is for ITEN to provide you a way of getting a quick and direct answer to a question that is challenging you, without having to go through the process of finding a new mentor.

The 3 subgroups with some of our most sought-after mentors already present are:

Sales and Marketing
Finance and HR
Technology and Operations

This service is made available to companies that have joined ITEN through applying as a start-up on the ITEN website, www.itenstl.org.
To take advantage of this new service, you need to join the ITEN Linked-In group if you haven’t done so  already.   The ITEN group is at http://www.linkedin.com/groups?mostPopular=&gid=774437   Once in the ITEN group, an ITEN company or an ITEN mentor can join any of the 3 subgroups where
  • you can pose your question in the form of a new discussion in that subgroup;
  • You can also check out the discussions started by other entrepreneurs, which will often be of interest to you as well.
Our Q&A service via Linked-In is not intended to take the place of a more focused relationship with a mentor or mentors.   If your challenge involves moving your company forward, I highly recommend you go to the ITEN website and use Mentor Match to find an appropriate mentor or mentors for your company.   But if what you really need is just a simple answer or direct advice on a specific situation, our new service through the Linked-In subgroups might be just the thing.

So, please join our Linked-In site and then give our subgroup Q&A service a try. Feel free to let us know what you think, but most of all: continued wishes for the success for your venture!

Datotel Announces Free Services for ITEN Companies

Datotel Will Help Foster St. Louis Entrepreneurs By Providing

10 IT Entrepreneur Network Companies Free Cloud-Computing Technology

ST. LOUIS, April 19, 2010 – To commemorate continued growth and the transfer of all employees to its Downtown St. Louis headquarters, Datotel, LLC, a state-of-the-art cloud-computing and colocation provider, is unveiling a program to advance St. Louis entrepreneurialism by investing more than $120,000 of free cloud-computing services to 10 IT Entrepreneur Network (ITEN) members….

To celebrate Datotel’s further evolution from a tiny, entrepreneurial start-up to a full-fledged business with national headquarters, Datotel is partnering with the IT Entrepreneur Network (ITEN) to identify 10 burgeoning companies and help their development with free cloud computing services for one year.  Each company will be eligible for $1,000 per month of Datotel’s cloud-computing services for free for a total investment of $120,000 into the ITEN network of companies and St. Louis community.

“When I began Datotel six years ago as a start-up, we were like many of these companies,” explained David Brown, Datotel CEO.  “We scratched and clawed our way into growth, finally getting to where we are today.  Knowing how hard that can be, I want to make sure Datotel makes it easier on local start-ups to foster their own growth and the business development of our region.  I see firsthand the deeply innovative talent pool St. Louis has and I want to help it thrive.”

All of ITEN’s 120+ member companies will be eligible for winning these services.  A Datotel and ITEN committee will base selection of the 10 winners on the following parameters and criteria:

·         Quality of innovative use of technology

·         How cloud computing services will help the company achieve its business goals

·         How the company takes an active role in bettering the community in which we live and work

“ITEN aims to be a catalyst for the emergence of a thriving entrepreneurial community, and many of the companies in our network are gaining traction in areas such as consumer electronics, media and social networking,” said Jim Brasunas, director, ITEN.  “We are excited to partner with Datotel on this new program that will go a long way to helping companies that have a lot of promise.”

Datotel and ITEN will open the program for entries on April 19 and select the 10 winners in June.  Cloud computing services for each winner will then begin as soon as possible.
