Sheila Burkett is an information systems leader who combines her corporate, small business and education experience to help others effectively use technology in their business. She is able to look at strategic business plans, understand their goals and align technology needs. Leveraging her ability to understand technology quickly, Sheila enjoys solving problems and identifying solutions to meet short and long-term needs. In addition to her technical background, she is a proven leader of people and applies her knowledge of organizational design, human resource processes, coaching and mentoring to help organizations and individuals reach their full potential. Sheila is an excellent communicator who can simplify complicated information that is understood by the masses.
Sheila has over twenty years of experience working on all facets of the software development life cycle, including business requirements definition, programming, training, deployment, and support. She has management experience on national and international projects with financial services companies, non-profits and small business. During her career, she managed hundreds of projects to successful completion, led teams and departments to exceed goals and numerous of experiences with crisis management. Sheila was directly involved in projects and management of operations that involved financial operations, stock trading, quality assurance, change management, SOX compliance, internal controls, data storage, networks, telephony systems, desktop and laptop deployment, workflow, spatial data analysis and data warehousing. During her last five years at Edward Jones, she was the Sr. Director responsible for the IS Vision, strategic planning and the project management office. Sheila’s education includes a B.S. in business administration with an emphasis in management information systems and a masters in business administration.
Sheila is an active participant in the St. Louis community, performing volunteer work for Delta Zeta Sorority, the Webster Groves School District Parents Clubs, Information Technology Coalition, and the Greater St. Louis Works. She actively serves on the boards of Craft Alliance, St. Louis Region Sports Car Club of America, St. Louis Alumnae Panhellenic Association, UMSL IS Advisory Board, and the Webster Groves School District Foundation. |
