Dr. Joan Stader has been engaged in developing government business since December 2001. Most recently, she has served as the Director of Business Development for a small St. Louis firm transitioning technology developed in-house either through licensing or manufacturing, obtaining Government business through R&D contracts or acquisitions establishing teaming agreements for joint technology development, and marketing products from government sponsored technology development. The business development activity was preceded by actual product development for the Federal Government. Trained as a molecular biologist, Dr. Stader led a multidisciplinary group of scientists working on problems associated with emerging infections, infection control, pandemic control and chem-bio counterterrorism. She is a subject matter expert and participant in the activities related to homeland security. Dr. Stader has written numerous government reports and is an inventor on several related patent applications. Dr. Stader holds a Secret security clearance.
Dr. Stader led the Technology Development Department at a St. Louis bioinformatics/biotechnology firm prior to her involvement in government work. She was previously on the faculty at the University of Missouri Kansas City and also taught courses at Washington University and Block Yeshiva High School.
Dr. Stader obtained her PhD from the University of Illinois, Chicago, Illinois and was an American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University. She is currently a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Product Development and Management Association. She has recently become an IT Entrepreneur Network Mentor. |
